Build Initiative Mission
The Build Initiative is a multi-state partnership supporting those who set policies,
provide services and advocate for children from birth through age five so that our
youngest children are safe, healthy, eager to learn, and ready to succeed in school.
Many programs, policies, and services exist for young children and their families,
yet they often operate in isolation, sometimes at cross purposes, and frequently
without enough resources to meet critical needs.
Our mission is to help each state build a coordinated system of programs, policies
and services that is responsive to the needs of families, careful in the use of private
and public resources and effective in preparing our youngest children for a successful future.
We will do this by being a catalyst for change, a source of ideas and funds, and a
pathway to a deeper national understanding of the issue.
